Liposuction is a procedure
that refines the body by making
a small incision in the skin
and inserting a thin tube called a cannula
to suction out excess subcutaneous fat.

Because it involves direct stimulation
of the tissue beneath the skin,
it inevitably causes internal trauma
and some degree of bleeding.

This is why patients must be prepared
for the possibility of temporary anemia
following liposuction surgery.

Anemia risk is influenced not only by
the patient’s existing hemoglobin levels,
but also by the volume and extent of liposuction.
For those with low baseline iron,
it is strongly recommended
to take iron supplements before surgery.

Even if iron levels are within the normal range,
preoperative iron intake is still advised
when large-volume liposuction is expected—
to ensure a safer surgical experience.

The patient featured today
underwent thigh liposuction
after being medically cleared
through a preoperative fitness screening.
She had low blood pressure
and a history of anemia,
and took iron supplements consistently
before the procedure to minimize risk
and ensure safe recovery.

Let’s take a look at her transformation
through the before-and-after photos below.

Patient Information
Age: Early 20s
Occupation: University student
Height: 158 cm
Weight: 55 kg
BMI: 22

Even among patients with similar body types,
liposuction results may vary by individual.

This patient gained approximately 4kg
in the month leading up to surgery.
Despite efforts with diet and exercise,
she remained frustrated
by persistent thigh fat,
which was difficult to reduce on her own.

According to her body shape analysis,
this patient presented with the following characteristics:

1.She had moderate skin elasticity
and a healthy amount of muscle mass.

2.Her lower body showed a fat-dominant type,
with fat evenly distributed throughout the thighs.
We anticipated a highly effective result
from thigh liposuction in terms of volume reduction.

3.In terms of health,
she had a history of anemia
and low blood pressure.

Based on this evaluation,
we proposed the following thigh liposuction plan:

1.We aimed to remove as much localized fat as possible
to create a straight leg contour,
resulting in a more streamlined silhouette.

2.Prior to surgery,
we conducted a preoperative fitness screening
to assess her general health condition.
We also advised the patient to take iron supplements
consistently leading up to the procedure,
to prevent any strain on the body
and ensure a safe surgical outcome.

Below is the comparison photo
taken before surgery
and 2 weeks after thigh liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume]
Treatment Area: Thighs
Liposuction Volume: 3,800cc

One month prior to surgery,
the patient experienced rapid weight gain,
resulting in increased thigh volume.
The goal of thigh liposuction
was to sculpt both the inner and outer thighs
into a slimmer, straighter leg line.

In the photos taken 2 weeks post-op,
despite the presence of bruising, swelling,
and Bio-Bond dressings,
the inner thighs and saddlebag areas
already showed a noticeably smoother contour
compared to the preoperative state.

Although the patient experienced
visible improvements early in recovery,
we advised that for optimal long-term results,
she continue with consistent aftercare,
including proper compression garment use,
a controlled diet,
and regular exercise
through at least 6 months post-op,
when most residual swelling typically resolves.
