Many people commit to diet and exercise routines
to build a firm and voluminous body,
but still struggle with stubborn fat
in areas like the arms and abdomen,
which can be frustrating.

Since it’s difficult to remove fat evenly and selectively,
more people are turning to specialized liposuction clinics,
even after successful weight loss,
to achieve their ideal body line.

To create a slimmer, well-contoured figure,
it’s important to consult with a specialist
about the right fat volume to remove
before undergoing liposuction.

For example, instead of targeting only the upper arms,
removing fat from connected areas like the armpits
or accessory breast (axillary fat)
helps create a straight, smooth shoulder-to-arm line,
which results in a more refined and balanced upper body.

The patient is 153cm tall, weighs 47.1kg,
with a BMI of 20.1.
She had long struggled with thick upper arms
that didn’t improve despite dieting,
causing significant stress.

Two years ago, she underwent arm liposuction
at another clinic to address this concern.
However, the results were unsatisfactory,
which led her to search for a clinic
that could provide not only a better surgery outcome
but also thorough post-operative care.

After a detailed consultation on arm liposuction revision,
we assessed the possibility of improving her arm contour,
and she decided to proceed with
upper body liposuction revision at our clinic.

A pinch test revealed that despite the patient’s previous arm liposuction,
there was still a noticeable amount of residual fat.

For the upper body liposuction revision,
the expected fat removal volume was estimated at 1,000cc to 1,500cc,
which was considered sufficient to achieve
the patient’s desired straight arm contour.

However, because the patient had a slightly developed deltoid,
we explained that achieving a fully right-angled shoulder look
would be difficult, and that some roundness might remain.

To address this, we planned to leave a small amount of fat
at the border between the triceps and deltoid,
while focusing on suctioning the rear upper arm,
to create a more defined straight arm line.

The patient also requested minimal incisions,
so we utilized the existing scar from a previous surgery
and performed the revision liposuction
through the armpit incision area.

To enhance the outcome, we combined
arm liposuction revision with armpit liposuction,
and a total of 1,500cc of fat was removed.

In the pre-op side view,
when the patient’s arms were relaxed naturally,
the upper arms appeared thick
compared to the torso.

By performing liposuction on both the arms
and their connecting area, the armpits,
we observed a reduction in contact area
between the armpit and side waist,
making the torso look slimmer overall.

The patient also had a developed deltoid,
so to create a right-angled shoulder line,
we left a small amount of fat
between the deltoid and triceps,
while targeting fat on the back of the arms.

As swelling decreases over time,
the shape is expected to further evolve
into a more defined right-angled shoulder look.

Liposuction is a procedure that removes excess fat,
but instead of removing as much fat as possible,
it’s important to find the right balance
based on the patient’s individual body type.

By leaving an appropriate amount of fat in key areas,
post-liposuction results can create a more beautiful and natural contour.

To achieve this, it is essential to consult with a medical team
that has extensive experience in liposuction,
along with strong aesthetic sense and surgical technique.

A well-balanced liposuction plan should always be
established through thorough consultation
to ensure the best outcome for each patient.
