Where do brides-to-be pay the most attention when preparing for their big day?
Face? Abdomen? While it varies by person, one of the
most commonly mentioned areas is the arms.
Depending on the style, most wedding dresses reveal the shoulders and upper arms.

That’s why many brides-to-be engage in pre-wedding
body care or dieting in preparation for the ceremony.
However, despite efforts, many find that stubborn arm fat doesn’t easily respond to
diet or exercise, leading them to consider liposuction.
This is because it’s difficult to reduce volume in specific areas with diet and exercise alone.
This patient also initially tried slimming her arms through diet and workouts but had
difficulty achieving her desired results, which led her to visit our clinic.

The patient was 154cm tall, weighed 50kg, and had a BMI of 21.1. Her skin had good elasticity.
She had a relatively high fat volume and lower muscle mass, making her a good
candidate for achieving noticeable improvement through liposuction.
In addition to her upper arms, fat was also distributed around surrounding areas such as the shoulder blades,
axillary (armpit) fat, accessory breast area, and bra line.

Because her wedding dress was going to expose her shoulders and arms,
we recommended liposuction for these areas as well to create better overall balance.
The patient agreed, saying she would prefer to include the accessory areas if it meant achieving slimmer,
smoother arms.
She ultimately underwent liposuction on the arms, shoulder blades, axillary fat, accessory breast tissue,
and bra line, with a total of 3,900cc of fat removed.

In the preoperative photo, there was a significant amount of fat on the upper arms,
creating a rounded, protruding outer contour.
In the back view, the armpit area also showed visible fat accumulation,
causing the arms to appear bulkier when lowered to her sides.

Fat had also built up in the accessory breast area,
creating a parenthesis-like curve near the underarm.
Although it was partially obscured by underwear in the back view,
fat around the scapula caused folds to appear when the arms were pulled back.
Photos taken 14 days after surgery already showed a noticeable reduction in upper body volume.
At the 2-month mark, her arms, shoulder blades, axillary fat,
and accessory breast areas had significantly slimmed down, resulting in a smoother arm line.

While this patient initially visited us for arm liposuction,
we recommended addressing surrounding areas like the shoulder blades, accessory breast,
bra line, and armpits to enhance the overall silhouette—especially for a wedding dress that exposes the upper body.
Sometimes patients misunderstand and think that liposuction for surrounding areas is mandatory.
We always explain that these recommendations are for a more beautiful result,
but the final decision is entirely up to the patient.
In this case, the patient chose to proceed with liposuction on all surrounding
areas and was able to achieve a very satisfying outcome.

Some patients, like the one featured here,
visit us well in advance of important events such as weddings.
However, some arrive only 2–3 weeks before their scheduled date,
which may not allow enough time for recovery.
While arm liposuction can significantly help in achieving a slim arm contour,
it still requires a proper healing period, just like any other surgical procedure.

We strongly recommend that patients planning
for an event schedule their consultation at least three months in advance.
Thanks to visiting with sufficient time to recover,
this patient was able to achieve the slim arm line she had hoped for in time for her big day.
If you’re dreaming of showing off a wedding dress with beautiful,
defined arms through arm liposuction, we encourage you
to visit us at least three months before your planned event.
