Facial fat accumulation
can greatly affect one’s impression.
In particular, even small fat deposits
under the cheekbones or around the jawline
can make the entire face look heavy
and wide.
As a result, contours become blurred,
and the appearance in photos or videos
may feel unsatisfactory.
In such cases, simple weight loss
is often not enough—
a structural solution may be required.
Facial liposuction reduces unnecessary volume
and refines blurred lines,
bringing a refreshed and balanced impression
to the face seen in the mirror.
This patient was concerned that her jawline looked blunt
and her overall face appeared wide,
making her photos and videos
look less satisfying to her.
Although she had a slim body type,
she was concerned about the fat around her jaw,
and visited our clinic seeking a
more defined facial line.
When examining her facial shape,
fat was evenly distributed under the cheekbones
and along the jawline.
From the front view, this made her
face look wider,
and from the side view, the jaw area
appeared uneven and sagging,
resulting in a blurred contour impression.
The patient also had masseter hypertrophy,
which made the square jaw more prominent.
Since facial contouring could not be
fully improved with liposuction alone,
we planned a combined treatment of
jawline-focused facial liposuction
and square jaw Botox.
At 2 months after surgery,
targeted liposuction of buccal fat under the cheekbones,
the double chin, and around the jawline
reduced lower facial volume,
improving the heavy impression and
revealing a sharper border between
the jawline and neckline.
Although no additional aftercare was performed,
most swelling subsided naturally,
allowing the contour lines to stabilize.
Both in daily life and in selfies or videos,
the patient’s impression appeared lighter
and more refined.
With the facial centerline drawn in
and previously blurred outlines clarified,
this case achieved a three-dimensional
facial contour that would have been
difficult to obtain through simple weight loss alone.
