For many men experiencing
gynecomastia symptoms,
summer can be the season
when stress reaches its peak.

As the weather becomes warmer,
clothing naturally becomes lighter,
and situations such as vacations
often make upper body exposure
difficult to avoid.

As a result,
the unwanted chest contour
becomes more noticeable,
causing many patients
to feel increasingly self-conscious.

For this reason,
as summer approaches,
some people attempt
rapid weight loss
or increase chest workouts
in hopes of reducing
their chest size.

However, even when
chest enlargement is caused by
pseudogynecomastia
associated with body fat,
it is not easy to selectively reduce fat
from a specific area of the body.

Furthermore,
if the condition is actually
true gynecomastia
caused by glandular tissue overgrowth,
these efforts may lead only
to greater frustration,
as exercise and weight loss alone
cannot eliminate the underlying cause.

Let’s take a closer look
through this patient’s case.

[Gynecomastia Patient Information]

Age: 30s
Height / Weight: 180 cm / 87 kg
Diagnosis: True Gynecomastia, Simon Grade 2A

This patient had experienced
gynecomastia symptoms
since adolescence
and had made numerous attempts
to improve the condition
through exercise and dieting.

However, despite these efforts,
the chest contour remained unchanged,
leading the patient
to seek surgical correction.

Before surgery,
the chest showed noticeable enlargement,
while both the nipple and areola
appeared swollen
and projected forward.

Based on the physical examination,
the condition was classified as
Simon Grade 2A gynecomastia,
and ultrasound evaluation confirmed
the diagnosis of
true gynecomastia.

For this reason,
the patient was advised that
removal of the glandular tissue
through an incision
along the border of the areola
would be necessary.

In addition,
fat surrounding the chest area,
which contributed to
the enlarged chest appearance,
was also planned for removal
through chest liposuction.

At the same time,
the patient was informed that
tissue repositioning
would be performed together
to reshape the area
where the glandular tissue and fat
had been removed,
creating a smoother
and more natural chest wall contour.

Let’s take a closer look
at the degree of change
through the following
before and after gynecomastia surgery photos.

Following gynecomastia surgery,
the previously protruding chest
and enlarged areolar area
were corrected into
a much more natural shape.

The shadowing that had formed
along the lower chest
due to excess chest volume
was also significantly improved.

As the chest contour itself
became smoother and flatter,
the previously noticeable protrusion
was eliminated,
creating a more masculine
and balanced upper body appearance.

From the side view,
the previously noticeable
chest protrusion
was effectively corrected,
creating a much more natural
and balanced chest contour.

A significant change was also seen
in the patient’s T-shirt fit.

Unlike before surgery,
when attention was inevitably drawn
to the chest area,
the post-operative results show
a smooth and natural
chest wall silhouette
without any awkward protrusion.

One notable point is that,
as the chest—previously the most prominent part
of the upper body—became flatter,
the abdomen appeared
relatively more noticeable.

For this reason,
the patient was advised to continue
consistent body management
to further enhance
overall physique and proportion.

Many patients continue to struggle with
gynecomastia symptoms
from adolescence into adulthood.

If you are experiencing
persistent chest enlargement,
protruding nipples or areolae,
psychological stress,
or discomfort in daily life
despite regular exercise,

it may be more beneficial
to seek an accurate diagnosis
and professional consultation
rather than assuming
the issue is simply related
to weight gain.

Instead of hiding your chest
under thick, dark clothing
as summer approaches,
consider exploring
the appropriate treatment options
to address the underlying cause.
