At the initial consultation,
the patient explained that her greatest concern
was the love handle area, where localized fat
made her waistline appear less defined.
Her primary goals were to refine
the contour of this region through
abdominal liposuction while also
reducing her overall waist circumference.
As demonstrated in the preoperative photographs,
the abdomen itself was not excessively protruding.
Instead, fullness involving the lower abdomen,
flanks, and posterior waist (love handles)
obscured the natural hourglass contour,
preventing a well-defined waistline from appearing.
Although the patient maintained
a healthy body weight, these localized fat deposits
around the central torso caused her figure
to appear heavier than it actually was,
particularly when wearing wedding dresses,
form-fitting clothing, or swimwear.
Based on the physical examination,
we determined that circumferential abdominal liposuction
could significantly improve not only
the definition of the waistline,
but also the smooth transition between
the upper body and the hips, creating
a more balanced and feminine silhouette.
However, the patient’s skin elasticity
was found to be relatively limited.
For this reason, aggressively removing
an excessive amount of fat could have increased
the risk of postoperative skin laxity
or contour irregularities.
Accordingly, the surgical plan emphasized
maximizing contour improvement within the
lower abdomen, flanks, and love handles,
while carefully adjusting the depth and extent
of fat removal to preserve skin support
and maintain a natural, harmonious body line.
The patient was also advised that,
following abdominal liposuction, maintaining
her current body weight would be preferable
to pursuing rapid weight loss, allowing the skin
to contract more predictably around
the newly contoured body shape.
In addition, consistent use of the
compression garment and diligent skin hydration
were strongly recommended to promote
optimal healing and help the postoperative

Following surgery,

By refining the lower abdomen, flanks,

From the lateral view,
the improvement in the area that had
concerned the patient most—the

Following abdominal liposuction,
the excess fullness along the posterior waist
has been effectively reduced, creating

The waistline is also far more defined
from the side profile, enhancing the natural
curve between the torso and the hips.
In addition,
the previously protruding lower abdomen
has been carefully contoured through liposuction,
