Many patients considering liposuction
are concerned about the possibility of visible scars,
which might reveal that they’ve had the procedure.

That’s why during consultations,
we explain in detail the number, location,
and treatment options for post-liposuction scars.

Although liposuction incisions are small,
and we use protectors to help minimize scarring,
some scarring is unavoidable.

For patients with sensitive skin,
or those prone to pigmentation or keloid formation,
this can be a reason for hesitation.

To address this, we carefully plan incision placement
in less visible areas, and minimize scar size
by using surgical protectors.
We also provide thorough post-op scar care
using laser treatments and scar ointments
to help improve healing and appearance.

Today’s case features a patient who had previous arm liposuction,
but returned for a revision procedure
after experiencing weight rebound
due to an irregular diet.

This patient had been particularly concerned
about scars after her first surgery.
Now, we’ll review her before-and-after photos
to see how her results and scars were managed
after the revision arm liposuction.

[Patient Information]
Age: Early 30s
Occupation: Office worker
Height: 153 cm
Weight: 47 kg
BMI: 20
Results may vary, even among patients with similar profiles.

Two years ago, she underwent arm liposuction at another clinic,
but was dissatisfied with the outcome.
Due to post-op weight gain and yoyo effect,
she returned to undergo revision liposuction
to refine her arm contour.

Body type analysis for this patient revealed the following:

1.She had moderate skin elasticity and muscle volume,
which provided a good foundation for liposuction.

2.However, her deltoid muscles were notably developed,
which meant that even with fat removal,
it would be difficult to achieve a perfectly straight arm
or sharp shoulder angle solely through liposuction.

3.In contrast, the upper arm bulge contained a sufficient amount of fat,
making her a strong candidate for size reduction
and contour refinement through revision liposuction.

Based on this assessment,
we proposed the following arm liposuction revision plan:

1.We performed arm liposuction along with armpit liposuction
to slim down the posterior arm bulge,
focusing on a smoother upper arm contour.

2.Given the prominent deltoid development,
we avoided excessive fat removal near the triceps-deltoid junction,
as this could emphasize the muscle shape too much.
Instead, we opted for a conservative suction plan in that zone
to maintain balance and achieve the most natural-looking straight arm line.

3.Since the patient was sensitive about scarring,
and wished to avoid new incisions,
we reused the original scar site from her previous surgery
to perform this revision procedure with minimal additional incisions.

Below are the comparison photos taken
before the revision arm liposuction and 2 weeks after surgery.

[Surgical Areas & Fat Volume]
Procedure areas: Arms, armpits
Total fat removed: 1,500cc

Through this arm liposuction revision,
the patient successfully eliminated residual fat
that was not addressed in her previous surgery.
As a result, her arm line has been noticeably refined,
appearing slimmer and more contoured than before.

In particular, the posterior upper arm bulge,
which made up more than half of the total arm fat,
had caused her frame to look larger when standing
with her arms naturally at her sides.

By removing this volume through revision liposuction,
we achieved a more straight, clean arm silhouette,
addressing a key concern from her original procedure.

As seen in the before-and-after photos
taken after the revision arm liposuction,
we carefully performed fat removal in a way that preserved
a small amount of volume between the triceps and deltoid muscles.
This allowed for a softer, straighter arm silhouette,
even in an arm with visible muscular definition.

This patient, as previously mentioned,
was particularly concerned about scarring
from the liposuction incision sites.
During the 6-month recovery period,
we guided her through not only basic contour management
including compression garment use and hydration care
but also provided a regimen for scar ointment application
and laser toning treatments at appropriate intervals.

Thanks to this comprehensive aftercare,
the final outcome was both aesthetic and discreet.
