Among the many ways to reduce body fat,
liposuction remains one of the most popular cosmetic procedures—
as it physically removes fat and creates visible body contour changes.

For a successful liposuction outcome,
it’s not about removing as much fat as possible,
but about thoroughly evaluating the patient’s health status beforehand
to determine whether the procedure is safe and appropriate.

It’s also crucial to calculate a balanced, body-appropriate fat volume
based on each patient’s shape
for safe and effective results.

[Abdominal Liposuction – Pre-Surgical Body Consultation / January 4 / Unauthorized Use Prohibited]

The patient is 173cm tall, weighs 64kg,
and has a BMI of 21.5.

She expressed the strongest desire for thigh liposuction,
followed by the abdomen and arms.

She previously lost weight down to 56kg,
but after starting a new job,
she experienced a yo-yo effect
and gained 8kg.

Her goal with liposuction
was to remove the regained body fat
and achieve a slim, model-like figure.

[Abdominal Liposuction Patient Body Consultation Before Surgery / January 4 / Unauthorized Use Prohibited]

During the body consultation,
it was estimated that at least 3,000cc of fat
would be removed through abdominal liposuction.

The patient had a slightly curved spine
and a visibly asymmetrical waist,
with one side of the flank area more indented.

We explained that if the flanks were aggressively suctioned,
it might make the front abdomen appear less concave.

The patient expressed a desire for a more defined waistline,
and fully agreed to the surgical plan before proceeding.

Prior to surgery,
she also inquired whether both the abdomen and thighs
could be treated on the same day,
as she had limited time off from work.

The surgeon explained that when the liposuction area is extensive,
there may be increased risk of bleeding,
making it difficult to perform multiple procedures at once.

If two areas were treated simultaneously,
real-time monitoring of blood test levels would be necessary,
along with possible IV fluid therapy or additional aftercare.

The patient wished to proceed with both
thigh and abdominal liposuction in a single session,
even if it meant staying nearby overnight before returning home.

To ensure the patient’s safety,
our medical team conducted a thorough pre-surgical evaluation
to confirm she was fit for undergoing dual-area liposuction.

The blood test results revealed
that the patient’s hemoglobin level was outside the normal range.

As a result, it was determined that
performing both thigh and abdominal liposuction on the same day
would not be safe.

We recommended that the patient begin taking iron supplements
consistently from the day of consultation
and return for a follow-up blood test at a later date.

We also explained that if the hemoglobin level does not improve,
liposuction on both areas may not be possible in the future.

[Abdominal Liposuction – 1 Day Post-Op Progress / Provided by the Patient / Unauthorized Use Prohibited]

The surgery was ultimately divided into two sessions
with at least one month between each procedure.

The first procedure focused on abdominal liposuction,
with a total of 4,700cc of fat successfully removed.

As seen in the photo, there was significant swelling
in the surgical area on the day of the procedure,
which can sometimes cause discomfort
when wearing the compression garment.

This discomfort may indicate poor blood circulation,
in which case we recommend removing the garment
for 1–2 days to promote proper circulation.

Once symptoms improve,
patients are advised to resume wearing the compression garment
to support ongoing recovery.

After taking iron supplements,
the patient underwent a second blood test,
but her hemoglobin levels had not improved.

For the sake of her health,
we explained that performing multiple liposuction procedures at once
would not be advisable at this time.

We recommended that she continue monitoring her condition
with future blood tests,
and plan for thigh liposuction
once her overall health and blood levels have improved.

To achieve the best liposuction results,
it’s essential to understand your body condition
through a customized pre-surgical diagnosis.

This is a critical step in
reducing the risk of complications
associated with liposuction procedures.

We recommend regularly checking your own condition
and scheduling a thorough consultation and examination
with our surgeons at Lesarts Plastic Surgery
for a safer, more satisfying experience.
