Face, Buccal fat

liposuction aspirate volume

A moderate amount of cheek fat can create
a youthful impression and help maintain
a baby-face image.

However, when fat under the cheekbones sags
or forms a double chin where the jaw
meets the neck, it does not enhance appearance.
Instead, it hides the jawline and makes
the overall impression look heavier.

When deep buccal fat and submental fat
concentrate in the lower face,
the lower third of the face appears bulky,
making expressions look heavy
or even adding years to one’s appearance.

For such unwanted facial fat that disrupts
the natural flow of facial contours,
massage, diet, or makeup alone
may not provide a complete solution.
That’s why many patients choose
direct approaches such as
double chin liposuction
or buccal fat removal
for visible and lasting improvement.

In this patient’s case, the facial bone itself
was not large, but fat had accumulated
from under the cheekbones, around the mouth,
extending to the side cheeks and under the chin.

This made the face appear larger and heavier
than it actually was, and the jawline looked less defined.

She also mentioned that her mouth area
looked pressed inward, giving expressions
a dull and unclear impression,
which became a major concern.

To improve these issues, she decided
to undergo facial liposuction,
focusing on reducing excess fat
and refining the facial contour.

Through pre-surgery consultation,
we carefully examined the facial fat distribution
and the natural position of the jawline.

It was found that the line extending
from beneath the jawline to the neckline
was not clearly defined, creating the appearance
of a double chin protruding forward.

In addition, the volume extending
from the cheeks down to the jawline
concealed the contour lines,
making the overall facial shape
look wider and less refined.

Accordingly, we planned facial liposuction
focused on the buccal fat (deep cheek fat)
and the double chin area.

By refining the thickness extending
from beneath the jawline to the neckline,
we aimed to create a slimmer, smoother flow
that connects naturally from both
the frontal view and side profile.

At about 3 months after facial liposuction,
the removal of excess fat from the buccal fat
and double chin area—extending from beneath
the cheekbones to the jawline
made the previously heavy impression look lighter,
with a sharper and more defined
jawline and neckline.

For this patient, the lower face had carried
a heavy impression overall.
Through facial liposuction,
this weight was reduced,
and the once-blurred contours
became clearer and more refined.

Because the jawline strongly affects
both the front and side view of the face,
considering the proportions of the face,
the underlying bone structure,
and the skin type,
a customized surgical approach
can create a stable transformation.

In such cases, results can be
as satisfying as facial contouring surgery,
delivering natural yet dramatic improvements.
