Mini Abdominoplasty Case Analysis,
lower abdominal sagging after childbirth
at Lesarts Plastic Surgery

After pregnancy and childbirth,
the abdomen often struggles
to fully return
to its original condition.

Especially after
a C-section delivery,
stretched skin may fold
over the scar area,
or the lower abdomen
may protrude more noticeably
around the scar line.

As the skin laxity
and abdominal protrusion
become more visible,
many patients develop
deeper concerns
about their body contour.

Because of these changes,
more patients are becoming interested
in procedures that can improve
the shape of the lower abdomen.

If your primary concern
is not the entire abdomen,
but specifically
lower abdominal sagging,
today’s case may be helpful
to follow closely.

[Patient Information]
Age: 40s
Height: 151 cm
Weight: 48 kg
BMI: 21

Even with similar body conditions,
surgical results may vary
depending on individual characteristics.

The patient had undergone
two C-section deliveries.

During pregnancy,
the abdominal skin stretched significantly,
and afterward,
the lower abdominal area
did not fully recover.
As a result,
the skin folded and sagged
above the C-section scar,
leading the patient
to seek correction.

Although the patient
had a generally slim body type,
rectus diastasis extending
from the upper abdomen
caused the abdomen
to protrude slightly forward.

In addition,
the previously high-positioned
C-section scar
made the lower abdominal fold
appear even more pronounced.

To correct the patient’s
lower abdominal sagging
and the folded skin
above the C-section scar,
the following surgical plan
was carefully established.

1. Abdominoplasty (S-type, navel floating)
– Removal of the existing
C-section scar
– Lifting of sagging, overlapping skin
above the scar area
and excess lower abdominal skin
– Extended upper abdominal dissection
through the navel floating technique

2. Rectus muscle repair
– Correction of rectus diastasis
extending from the upper abdomen
through the navel floating approach
– Reinforcement of the abdominal wall
to prevent forward protrusion

3. Liposuction (abdomen and flanks)
– Fat removal across
the abdomen and flank area
– Enhancement of the overall
abdominoplasty result

The S-type abdominoplasty
is considered a form of
mini abdominoplasty,
primarily targeting
lower abdominal sagging.

Through the navel floating technique,
the surgical dissection
was extended upward
to broaden the correction range
and improve overall contour balance.

Before mini abdominoplasty,
skin with reduced elasticity
folded and sagged
above the C-section scar,
creating a pronounced
double-fold appearance
with a deep visible boundary.

This caused the lower abdomen
to appear compressed downward,
while reduced skin elasticity,
rectus diastasis,
and abdominal fat together
created an uneven surface
and irregular contour.

However, in the photo taken
3 months after surgery,
the previously folded
and uneven abdominal shape
has been noticeably refined.
The abdomen now appears
much smoother and
more naturally contoured.

When bending forward,
the previously weakened
abdominal wall and
stretched skin that sagged downward
above the C-section scar
were firmly lifted and corrected.
Both the heavy appearance
and reduced skin elasticity
showed clear improvement.

The previous C-section scar
was also removed
and replaced with a new incision line.
With continued body contour management
and proper scar care,
the results are expected
to improve even further over time.

In this patient’s case,
even while standing upright,
the stretched lower abdominal skin
was visibly noticeable.
Because of this,
the improvement seen
from the side profile
appears even more dramatic.

The previously uneven
and protruding abdominal wall
was corrected,
and the high-positioned
C-section scar above the underwear line,
along with the overlapping skin above it,
was smoothly refined.
As a result,
the lower abdomen now appears
firmer and more contoured.

Combined abdominal liposuction
enhanced the lifting effect,
while also creating
a smoother and more feminine curve
from the waist to the hips.
This contributed to
a more balanced
and proportionate waistline overall.

Many patients after
C-section delivery
experience concentrated
lower abdominal sagging
or noticeable skin folding
above the scar area.

As shown in this
mini abdominoplasty case,
patients seeking correction of
lower abdominal skin laxity,
rectus diastasis,
and scar position or shape
may benefit from
a detailed consultation
to discuss appropriate treatment options.
