A considerable number of patients
who visit for liposuction consultations
come seeking revision surgery.

That’s because the size reduction from liposuction
is not guaranteed to last permanently
without consistent diet and exercise management.

In cases where patients regain weight
after their initial procedure,
the treated areas can accumulate fat again,
leading them to consider a second surgery.

Even though liposuction reduces the number of fat cells,
those remaining can still expand in size
if excess calories are consumed
without proper physical activity.
This may compromise the contour achieved
after the initial procedure.

It’s also important to note that liposuction revision
should not be performed too soon.
Since the body needs 6 months to 1 year to fully recover,
we typically evaluate revision candidacy
only after this healing period has passed.

Today’s featured case involves a patient
who had undergone abdominal liposuction
at another clinic 2 years ago.
Although she initially lost 7kg
and maintained a fit silhouette into her 40s,
a recent 10kg weight gain over 3 months
led to noticeable fat accumulation
in the arms and abdomen,
causing her upper body to appear heavier.

She returned to improve these areas
through a combination of arm liposuction
and abdominal liposuction revision,
successfully regaining a delicate upper body contour.
Let’s take a closer look at the before and after photos.

[Patient Information]

Age: Early 40s
Occupation: Office worker
Height: 164 cm
Weight: 56 kg
BMI: 21

Results may vary even with similar physical profiles.

The patient had undergone abdominal liposuction
at another clinic two years ago
and successfully lost about 7kg.
Thanks to this, she had maintained a firm, balanced figure
even in her 40s, with a defined silhouette.

However, over the past three months,
she experienced a rapid weight gain of around 10kg,
which led to fat accumulation in her arms and abdomen.
This created a heavier upper body appearance,
and became a major source of stress for her.

According to the patient’s body type analysis,
she appeared relatively slim at first glance.
However, she had localized fat deposits
in several areas that disrupted her silhouette.

She had noticeable fat accumulation
in the arms, accessory breast area,
and clavicle line,
as well as in the shoulder blades (scapula)
and bra line on her back.
We also recommended abdominal liposuction revision
to restore upper body balance.

However, due to sudden weight gain
and poor dietary habits,
the patient had developed visceral fat,
which was pushing her abdominal wall forward.
We explained that even after liposuction,
the front abdomen might still appear uneven
due to this internal pressure.

Based on these findings, we proposed the following
liposuction revision plan:

1.Perform arm liposuction
and abdominal liposuction revision
to reduce overall upper body volume
and restore a cleaner, slimmer silhouette.

2.Since we anticipated a high fat volume
in each area, we conducted preoperative testing
to assess her general health.
We also advised iron supplementation treatment
to manage potential anemia risks
and ensure a safe procedure.

Below are the comparison photos
taken before and 1 month after
her liposuction revision surgery.

[Surgical Areas and Fat Volume Removed]

Surgical areas: Arms, accessory breast, clavicle,
abdomen (revision), bra line, shoulder blades
Fat volume removed: 4,300cc

This patient aimed to refine her upper body contour
through arm and abdominal liposuction revision,
along with targeted fat removal in the accessory breast,
clavicle, bra line, and scapula (shoulder blade) areas.

The goal was to eliminate the fat gained rapidly in recent months,
removing volume-distorting bulges
and restoring a smooth, defined silhouette.

In the photos taken 1 month after surgery,
the previously bulky upper body appearance
was visibly reduced.
The combined effect of arm liposuction
and abdominal revision improved body balance.

Notably, the abdominal area,
which had become uneven after regaining weight
post-primary surgery,
was restored to a flat, waist-defining contour
through this revision procedure.

Since the patient was in her 40s,
we emphasized the importance of skin elasticity management.
To minimize sagging or wrinkling in areas
where fat had been removed,
we recommended wearing compression garments
for over 3 months
,
longer than the average recovery period.

Additionally, we advised her to prevent dryness
by practicing regular moisturizing,
along with adopting a balanced diet
and sustainable lifestyle habits
to help maintain the surgical outcome.

While we are pleased with her positive transformation,
what matters most is achieving long-lasting results
from the very first surgery through proper care.

At Lesarts, we prioritize detailed body analysis
and preoperative testing to determine surgical suitability,
expected changes, and health safety.
We also remain dedicated to post-op management
for stable and satisfying recoveries.
