One of the most common concerns
among modern women is lower body obesity,
which is often linked to hormonal changes
that occur during puberty.

Estrogen, a female hormone, plays a key role
in storing fat in the lower body,
making it difficult to overcome this issue
with just diet and exercise alone.

As a result, many women with lower body fat
turn to lower body liposuction
as a solution to reshape their silhouette.

This procedure allows for selective fat removal,
targeting specific areas to achieve
a slimmer and more balanced leg line.

If a certain area of the lower body
has excessive volume,
liposuction can help resolve
that localized concern.

However, the thighs have a relatively high
muscle-to-fat ratio compared to other areas,
so achieving a satisfactory result
requires careful planning.

It is essential to consider each patient’s
body type, fat distribution,
and skin elasticity when creating
a customized surgical plan for thigh liposuction.

To maximize the results,
postoperative care is equally important—
including proper exercise, stretching,
and consistent diet management
to maintain the improved body shape.

The patient is 164cm tall, weighs 61kg,
and has a BMI of 22.7. She previously underwent
arm liposuction at our clinic and was
highly satisfied with the results.

After surgery, she successfully lost
about 10kg through a combination
of dieting and high-protein meals,
and maintained her improved body shape.

However, due to a sudden increase
in her workload, her routine became
physically inactive and her diet irregular,
resulting in rebound weight gain
especially fat accumulation in the thighs.

To resolve this, she returned to our clinic
and decided to undergo lower body liposuction.

During the consultation, she inquired whether
it would be possible to remove a significant
amount of fat from the thighs to achieve
straight legs with a visible thigh gap.

Based on the body consultation,
the patient had a fat-dominant lower body,
with fat evenly distributed throughout the thighs.
This suggested that lower body liposuction
would result in a visible volume reduction
and clear before-and-after improvement.

However, her bone structure was thick,
and the front thigh muscles were highly developed.
Following a weight fluctuation of around 10kg,
she also showed signs of reduced skin elasticity.

Due to these factors, performing maximum-volume liposuction
was not recommended. And because of her muscle and frame,
achieving the extremely slim, straight legs
she originally hoped for would be challenging.

Instead, we proposed a liposuction plan
targeting the inner thighs and saddlebags
her main areas of concern—
to create a smooth and balanced leg contour
rather than pursuing excessive fat removal.

We also explained that in cases
of severely reduced skin elasticity,
removing large amounts of fat
could lead to skin sagging.
To prevent this and support stable healing,
we recommended wearing compression garments
for at least 3 months, which is longer than average.

Because long-term use of compression garments
can cause skin sensitivity or discoloration,
we stressed the importance of daily moisturization
to maintain skin health and prevent irritation.

Additionally, since the patient has orthostatic hypotension,
we conducted a surgical fitness evaluation
and advised her to take iron supplements preoperatively
to avoid low hemoglobin levels
that could affect recovery after surgery.

After fully understanding the procedure,
the patient agreed to the lower body liposuction plan,
underwent thigh liposuction,
and had a total of 5,300cc of fat successfully removed.

When visiting a liposuction clinic
for lower body contouring,
many patients express the same goal—
achieving a visible “thigh gap.”

The thigh gap refers to the space
between the inner thighs when standing straight,
and it isn’t created simply by being thin.

It depends on several factors including
bone structure, inner thigh fat,
and adductor muscle development.

In this case, the patient had a wide pelvic frame,
which allowed us to highlight her hip curve
by focusing liposuction on the saddlebags
and inner thighs.

As a result, she achieved a more feminine,
elongated leg line, along with a visible thigh gap.

Because results vary based on the patient’s
muscle-to-bone ratio, it’s essential to have
a thorough consultation with the surgeon
before lower body liposuction,
to ensure a tailored plan and satisfying outcome.
