Hip dip fat transfer

Right: 170cc / Left: 150cc

Have you ever felt
that even if you’re not overweight,
your bodyline looks unshaped and flat
making you seem heavier than you are?

Recently, many of our consultation patients
express frustration about their silhouette,
despite having a slim body overall
with stubborn abdominal fat
or flat pelvic lines
that prevent clothes from fitting well.

In these cases, simply removing fat
is not enough to achieve body reshaping.
A balanced body contour approach is needed—
adding volume to where it’s lacking,
while trimming excess fat.

This case features a patient
who reshaped her figure
by removing abdominal bulges
and performing fat grafting to the hip dips,
creating a more dimensional waist and hip line.

Age: Early 30s

The patient had maintained
a relatively stable body shape
without major weight fluctuations,
but she was long concerned that
the fat concentrated in her abdomen
hid her waistline
and ruined the look of fitted clothing.

She specifically wished for
a snatched waist like a cola bottle
and curved hips,
but knew that simple dieting alone
had its limitations—
which led her to decide on
abdominal liposuction
and hip fat transfer.

The entire front abdomen,
including both the upper and lower abdominal areas,
had an even distribution of subcutaneous fat,
and the added effect of visceral fat
caused the abdominal wall to bulge outward.

As a result, the waistline lost its shape
in all directions—front, back, and sides
leading to a bulky appearance
and a lack of visible curves.

In contrast, the hip dip area
where the waist transitions into the lower body
had insufficient lateral pelvic volume,
which made the lower body appear shorter.

Accordingly, the surgery was planned
based on the following approach.

1. Abdominal Liposuction
– Fat was removed from the upper abdomen,
lower abdomen, and flanks
to highlight the waist curve.
– Focus was not just on fat reduction,
but on sculpting a slim, contoured waistline.

2. Hip Dip Fat Transfer
– A portion of the fat removed from the abdomen
was transferred to the hip dip area.
– Volume was added to the lateral pelvis
to create a more three-dimensional shape.
– The goal was to achieve a natural, curvy silhouette.

The patient also wanted to preserve the volume
of her buttocks,
so no liposuction was performed on the gluteal area.

Let’s now review the before-and-after photos
taken 4 months after abdominal liposuction
and hip dip fat transfer
to assess the improvement in body lines.

Through abdominal liposuction,
excess belly fat was removed,
resulting in a defined waistline.
Slimming effects were clearly visible
from all 360-degree angles.

As the waist became narrower,
volume was added to the hip area,
enhancing curves while making the waist
look even slimmer and more elegant.

After the first round of hip dip fat transfer,
fat retention was stable,
and the overall body proportions looked balanced.
However, the patient desired a slightly fuller shape.

We then performed a second hip dip fat graft,
refining the contour with liposuction
on the inner thighs, saddlebag area,
and lower buttock crease,
while enhancing volume in the pelvic line
for a curvier, more harmonious silhouette.

As the fat grafted to the hips settled in,
the curve from the waist to the thighs
became more defined,
with the buttocks line enhanced.

The hip dip area that once made
the legs appear shorter
now had a higher starting point,
creating the effect of longer legs.

Looking at the full body silhouette,
the lower body appeared longer,
and the waist looked noticeably slimmer,
creating an illusion of being lighter in weight
than actual body measurements.

In this case, both abdominal liposuction
and hip dip fat transfer were performed
not just to remove and inject fat,
but to refine the overall body proportions
and create flowing, natural curves.

Thanks to this proportion-focused approach,
the patient was able to achieve the
natural and feminine contour
she had hoped for.

At the time of follow-up photography,
some bruising and swelling remained,
as part of the recovery process.
Once the grafted fat stabilizes fully
and the suctioned areas heal completely,
the final silhouette is expected to look
even softer and more refined.
