When the New Year begins,
many people make a firm decision
to start the diet they’ve postponed,
especially as they face the belly fat
gained from irregular eating habits
and a disorganized lifestyle.

At this time, liposuction clinics
often fill with patients who want
to be reborn with a slimmer body.

While clean eating and regular workouts
are frequently mentioned as solutions,
creating and maintaining such habits
is not easy for most people.

So, to manage their body shape
more quickly and conveniently,
many choose liposuction surgery.

Even though more people are
visiting plastic surgery clinics
for liposuction,
a poorly planned procedure
can harm body balance
and create an unnatural contour.

To create a satisfying silhouette,
it’s essential to design a plan
based on individual body shape,
skin elasticity, and the target area
through personalized consultation.

Post-surgery aftercare also plays a major role,
enhancing the contouring effect
and supporting the transformation
to a more beautiful body line.

Maintaining a balanced diet
after liposuction is equally important
for long-term body management.

The patient’s body profile was:
Height 155cm, Weight 52kg, BMI 22.
Despite a petite frame,
she had noticeably large upper arms,
which caused her consistent stress.

To slim her arms,
she had diligently continued weight training,
without neglecting her workout routine.

However, despite her effort,
the results were minimal,
and her arm muscles appeared more defined,
creating an unintended bulky look.

She visited our liposuction clinic
to see if upper body liposuction
could help her achieve slimmer arms,
and also to inquire about the cost.

She shared that she had researched
multiple liposuction clinics,
comparing procedures, prices,
and aftercare programs
to find the most suitable one.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t find
a clinic that met all her criteria,
and had to postpone her plans
for arm liposuction for a while.

Still, her desire to create a youthful,
slim upper body line
and wear beautiful clothes freely
remained strong.

After 3 years of thorough consideration,
including reviewing before-and-after photos,
aftercare systems, and clinic reputation,
she chose our clinic for her
upper body liposuction surgery.

During the body consultation,
we found that the patient had
a slender bone structure and good skin elasticity.
Her skin was slightly thick,
which suggested good results
from upper body liposuction.

To meet her desire for
a dramatic improvement,
we recommended including
the accessory breast, armpit,
and bra line areas along with the arms.

By targeting these connected areas,
we explained it would help create
a smaller-looking upper body overall.

As for the bra line,
which enhances the slimming effect,
we advised combining it
with abdominal liposuction
at a later stage.

However, due to a weight change
of over 10kg in the past year,
her abdominal area had
reduced skin elasticity
and concentrated fat accumulation,
causing a bulging, sagging look.

We informed the patient
that post-liposuction,
navel sagging could occur
as a result of this condition.

To help the skin retract properly
and avoid sagging,
we emphasized the importance
of wearing compression garments consistently.

Depending on the patient’s recovery
and skin elasticity,
the wearing period could be extended
to 2–3 months.

Since the abdomen is prone to wrinkling,
we recommended pulling the garment tightly
and wearing it in the correct posture
to avoid skin creases.

We also noted that
long-term compression wear
could cause skin discoloration,
so it’s important to apply
ample moisturization beforehand.

Since liposuction of the arms and abdomen
was expected to remove about 5,000cc of fat,
we planned to divide the procedure
into two separate sessions.

The first session included the arms,
bra line, accessory breast, and armpits.
We advised performing abdominal liposuction
during a later visit for aftercare.

As a result of the upper body liposuction,
a total of 5,900cc of fat was extracted.

3-month follow-up after upper body liposuction
[Surgery date: February 10 / Abdominal procedure: February 20 / Progress photos taken: June 8]

Before upper body liposuction,
photos of the patient with arms raised
show that fat was concentrated
around the upper arms,
making the overall body appear larger.

When lifting her arms,
the weight of the fat
caused a noticeable sagging effect
under the arms.

To reduce overall volume,
liposuction was performed strategically
on the arms, bra line,
accessory breast, scapula,
and armpit areas,

resulting in a natural yet slim upper body,
tailored to the patient’s body shape.

After surgery, the patient
committed to consistent aftercare,
including compression garment use
and skin moisturization,
to maintain skin elasticity
and prevent navel sagging.

As a result, the patient was highly satisfied
with the outcome and smooth recovery.

While upper body liposuction
helped reduce size
and achieve the desired body shape,
it doesn’t guarantee permanent results.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle
with regular exercise
and a balanced diet
is essential for long-term success
and overall quality of life.
