As summer approaches and clothing becomes lighter,
more women are voicing concerns
about upper arm fat.

Since it is difficult to suddenly reduce fat
and achieve slender, toned arms,
many patients are turning to arm liposuction
as a targeted solution.

Although some patients decide quickly,
others hesitate due to concerns about
bruising and swelling
from the cannula used in upper body liposuction,
which involves vibrating and reciprocating movements
to remove fat cells from under the skin.

Compared to the abdomen or thighs,
the arms are a more visible area,
so worries about scarring or pigmentation
are also common.

Post-liposuction scars and temporary discoloration
are natural side effects and vary by individual.
Over time, these usually fade significantly
and become barely noticeable.

If you are concerned about recovery,
it’s important to undergo an accurate evaluation
to assess whether you bruise or pigment easily.
This helps guide your surgical plan
and aftercare regimen.

The patient featured today was distressed
by excess upper arm fat
that made her upper body appear bulky.
She was particularly anxious about the incision scars
after arm liposuction.

Let’s take a look at her transformation
and how scar management was addressed
through the before-and-after comparison below.

Patient Information
Age: Mid-20s
Occupation: Office worker
Height: 162 cm
Weight: 53 kg
BMI: 20

Even among patients with similar body types,
liposuction results may vary by individual.

This patient was especially stressed
by thick upper arms
that affected the fit of her clothing.

According to her body shape analysis,
this patient presented with the following characteristics:

1.She had large muscle mass,
and her fat tissue was relatively dense and firm.

2.In the axillary area and accessory breast tissue,
there was a sufficient amount of fat
suitable for removal through liposuction.

3.Notably, her accessory breast tissue
was rounded and visibly prominent,
making it a key focus of the procedure.

4.She had a well-developed deltoid,
which could cause the muscle line to appear
more pronounced after arm liposuction.

Based on this evaluation,
we proposed the following arm liposuction plan:

1.We planned to perform arm liposuction
in combination with axillary and
accessory breast tissue liposuction,
to sculpt a slimmer and more refined arm contour.

2.Due to her developed deltoid,
a completely straight arm shape was not expected.
Instead, we planned to leave a small amount of fat
at the outer boundary of the deltoid
to maintain a natural-looking silhouette
while achieving a slimmer result.

3.The patient had concerns about scarring,
so we minimized the incision size
to prevent visible scar formation.
We designed the surgery
to achieve minimal trauma and discreet recovery
around the incision sites.

Below is the comparison photo
taken before surgery
and 5.5 months after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume]
Treatment Areas: Arms, Accessory breast tissue, Axillary area
Liposuction Volume: 3,100cc

This patient underwent arm liposuction
along with targeted removal of fat
in the axillary and accessory breast areas,
which helped reduce the bulky appearance
and enhanced the slim, delicate silhouette of the upper body.

In the photos taken 5.5 months after surgery,
it is clear that the previously bulky areas—
including the arms, underarm region,
and accessory breast tissue
were successfully reduced and reshaped,
resulting in a much leaner arm line.

The patient also achieved a softer, more feminine look
by reducing excess volume that once made
her upper body appear larger.

However, as noted earlier,
this patient had developed deltoid muscles,
so over-aggressive liposuction could have
exaggerated the muscle line.
To prevent this, we left a small amount of fat
around the shoulder-arm junction,
preserving a natural-looking contour
while still achieving a slim appearance.

The patient was initially concerned
about scarring and pigmentation
at the incision sites.
Postoperatively, we provided laser toning treatments
to support a stable and aesthetic recovery.

We advised the patient that
it typically takes about 6 months
to see the final results of arm liposuction.
To maintain the newly sculpted straight arm shape,
she was encouraged to adopt
healthy habits, including a balanced diet
and consistent exercise routine.
