Even when the body mass index (BMI)
falls within a normal range,
patients with high localized fat
and low muscle mass
often struggle with body contouring,
especially in areas like the arms or waist.

Despite efforts with clean diets
and cardio workouts,
it’s difficult to achieve a perfectly shaped figure
through exercise alone—especially in a short period.
This is why many patients turn to liposuction
as a targeted method
for removing stubborn fat in specific areas.

Liposuction is a body contouring procedure
that removes fat selectively from localized regions.
Rather than causing weight loss,
it focuses on reducing size and improving silhouette.
An added benefit is that fat does not easily return
to areas that have undergone liposuction.

However, if the patient does not maintain
a healthy diet and lifestyle post-op,
the size of remaining fat cells can increase—
even if the total number of fat cells has been reduced.
This may lead to rebound weight gain
or size increase in untreated areas.

Therefore, maintaining results after liposuction
requires proper aftercare, including
consistent exercise and nutritional balance,
as part of a sustainable routine.

The patient in today’s case
had a relatively slim frame
but struggled with disproportionately large upper arms,
which remained unchanged despite regular workouts.

She underwent arm liposuction
combined with adjacent area fat removal,
resulting in a slimmer, more proportional upper body line.

Let’s review the before-and-after transformation
through the case details below.

Even among patients with similar body types,
liposuction results may vary individually.

According to her body shape analysis,
this patient had the following characteristics:

1.She had a fat-dominant body type
with low muscle mass.
As a result, arm liposuction was expected
to significantly improve volume reduction
and circumference.

2.To create a more slender and delicate arm line,
we recommended additional liposuction
in the accessory breast tissue,
scapular area, and axillary region
to support balanced upper body contouring.

Based on this evaluation,
we proposed the following arm liposuction plan:

1.Combine arm liposuction with fat removal
from the accessory breast tissue, scapula, and armpits
to achieve a symmetrical upper body
and a straighter, more refined arm silhouette.

Below is the comparison photo
taken before surgery
and 3 months after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume]
Treatment Areas: Arms, Accessory breast tissue, Axillary area, Scapula
Liposuction Volume: 1,700cc

The patient underwent arm liposuction
along with fat removal from the accessory breast,
underarms, and scapular region,
with the goal of achieving a more balanced upper body
and a slimmer arm silhouette.

As shown in the comparison photos taken 3 months post-op,
the fat pockets around the armpits, accessory breast area,
and upper back (scapula) previously pushed the arms outward,
making the arms appear bulkier and the torso wider.

By carefully contouring these areas,
the patient achieved a more delicate upper body profile,
with a noticeably slimmer and more proportional arm line.

From the side view, the previously wide upper arms
now appear narrower and longer,
creating a more elongated and elegant look overall.

During the 3-month recovery period,
the patient consistently wore compression garments
and followed up with radiofrequency treatments
and balance-enhancing injections,
allowing for a smooth and stable recovery.

While residual swelling can take several more months to resolve,
continued commitment to exercise and dietary control
will help maximize surgical results
and minimize the risk of rebound (yo-yo effect).
