Recently, there has been a growing trend
of focusing more on mirror-body checks
than on the number shown on the scale.

In fact, mirror-body checking allows individuals
to objectively evaluate their own bodies,
identify their body shape insecurities,
and work toward improvement,
making it a strong motivator for weight loss.

However, achieving an ideally proportioned figure
is often considered more difficult
than simply losing weight.

This is because certain areas require fat reduction,
while others need to retain volume,
and every body part has its own
ideal size and balance.

For this reason, many people consider
surgical options such as liposuction or fat grafting
to correct body imbalances
when certain areas don’t slim down easily.

Today’s featured patient gained weight
due to poor dietary habits,
and increased volume in the upper arms
made her body frame appear larger,
leading her to choose arm liposuction.

Through arm liposuction,
she achieved a naturally slimmer arm line,
which we will now examine
in the before-and-after photos below.

[Patient Information]

Age: Early 20s

Occupation: University student

Height: 167 cm

Weight: 53 kg

BMI: 19

Even with similar body specifications,
liposuction results may vary depending on the individual.

Before surgery, the patient had tried
exercise, fat-dissolving injections,
and even diet supplements
to reduce upper arm fat caused by weight gain,
in hopes of slimming her body frame.

Despite her efforts,
she was unable to see a reduction in arm fat,
which caused her significant stress.

Based on the patient’s body analysis,
we found the following:

1.Skin elasticity and muscle mass were moderate,
with a notable amount of upper body fat,
suggesting that arm liposuction
would result in a noticeable difference
between before and after.

2.There was excess fat in the armpit
and accessory breast area,
so combining them with arm liposuction
was expected to yield a slimmer frame
and a narrower upper-body line.

3.With developed deltoid muscles,
removing too much fat could expose muscle lines
and make it harder to create
a clean right-angled shoulder,
which was the patient’s aesthetic goal.

4.The patient had fibrous fat tissue,
so we expected pain, swelling, and bruising
to last longer than average
during the postoperative recovery period.

Therefore, we recommended
the following arm liposuction surgery plan
for this patient.

1.Perform arm, accessory breast,
and armpit liposuction together
to achieve a graceful, slender arm line.

2.For her deltoid-heavy frame,
we preserved some fat below the deltoid
to maintain a natural shoulder angle
and a smooth straight-line arm contour.

3.Given her fibrous fat cells,
we advised consistent use of a compression garment
to reduce swelling and bruising
and ensure stable healing.

These are the comparison photos
taken before and 2 months after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Areas and Fat Volume]

Surgical areas: Arms, accessory breast, armpits
Liposuction volume: 1,300cc

This patient underwent arm liposuction,
along with accessory breast and armpit liposuction,
to remove bulk from the upper arms
and surrounding areas that made the upper body look wide,
with the goal of creating a slender, feminine arm line.

Before surgery, when the arms were naturally lowered,
photos from various angles showed that
fat in the upper arms, accessory breast, and armpits
caused fullness in all directions—
making the upper body appear wider.
After liposuction, the silhouette became noticeably slimmer,
resulting in a lighter and more elegant arm shape.

In the selfie photos provided by the patient,
you can also see that her frame had a prominent deltoid line,
but the surrounding fat made the upper body appear bulky
and less defined.

After removing the arm fat,
her arms transformed into a longer, smoother silhouette
with a more natural, graceful line.

Rather than removing fat evenly across the arm,
we left a small amount of fat
beneath the deltoid line
to create a smoother contour
and maintain proportional balance.

As previously mentioned, the patient had
fibrous fat cells in the arms,
so during liposuction and recovery,
she was informed that she might experience
more bruising, swelling, stiffness,
and pulling sensations
than average liposuction cases.

To support smooth healing and prevent unevenness,
we emphasized the need for consistent compression wear,
and reminded her to focus on moisturizing care
as extended compression can cause skin dryness.
