[Patient Information]

Age: Late 30s

Occupation: Office worker

Height: 159cm

Weight: 46kg

BMI: 18

*Note: Even with a similar body type,
liposuction results may vary between individuals.

This patient had an inherently upper-body-heavy figure,
and was especially stressed by stubborn arm fat
that affected the way clothes fit her.

At our clinic, we generally recommend wearing
compression garments for 2 to 3 months
after liposuction to promote stable recovery
and optimal results.

For patients with average skin elasticity,
we advise 24-hour wear for the first 2 weeks,
followed by a gradual reduction to
12 hours, then 8 hours,
to maintain skin tightness as healing progresses.

If the patient has poor skin elasticity
or very thin skin,
we recommend extending garment wear by
an additional 2–3 months beyond the average period.

This is because the empty space left by fat removal
can lead to sagging, wrinkling,
or uneven contours unless the skin is
well-supported throughout the healing phase.

Think of compression as a way to firmly hold
the tissue in place until your new shape settles.

This patient is a clear example.
While she was satisfied with the initial results
right after her arm liposuction,
she remained committed to consistent aftercare
to achieve an even slimmer, more sculpted arm line.

Let’s take a closer look at her transformation
through her case progress photos.

Body analysis revealed the following characteristics:

1.The patient had a fat-dominant body type
with low muscle mass and fat primarily distributed
in the upper body.

2.The back of the arms had a higher fat ratio,
suggesting that arm liposuction
would result in a noticeable size reduction.

3.However, due to reduced skin elasticity,
aggressive suction in the biceps area
could lead to visible surface irregularities.

Based on this, we proposed the following
arm liposuction surgery plan:

1. Focus on slimming the posterior arm,
where fat was most concentrated.

2. Because of the patient’s low skin elasticity,
avoid over-suctioning the biceps area.

3. Leave a small amount of fat along the biceps border
to maintain a natural straight-arm contour.

4. We did not recommend liposuction
in the surrounding areas—armpits, accessory breast, scapula—
due to skin elasticity concerns.

Below is a comparison photo taken before surgery
and 2 weeks after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume Removed]

Surgical Areas: Arms

Liposuction Volume: 1,200cc

The patient hoped to improve her arm contour
by removing excess fat from the back of the arms
through arm liposuction.

After surgery, her entire upper arm became slimmer,
and by the 1-month mark, the arms had transformed
into a more balanced, straight silhouette.

However, as seen in the 2-week post-op photo,
patients with reduced skin elasticity, like her,
may develop loose skin or wrinkling due to
the empty space left behind after fat removal.

As mentioned earlier, achieving a smooth arm line
after liposuction—especially with loose skin—
can take time. That’s why precise surgical planning
and consistent postoperative care are essential.

In addition to in-clinic care,
wearing compression garments regularly is crucial
to prevent skin sagging,
and moisturizing the skin properly
helps prevent discoloration or irritation
from long-term compression wear.
