When nutrients from food are fully used,
any leftover energy is stored in the body as body fat.
This fat plays important roles—
protecting internal organs and regulating body temperature.

However, when nutrients are overconsumed,
the excess fat that accumulates can lead to obesity.

Fat does not accumulate evenly across the body,
which is why many people struggle with
localized fat, or partial obesity.

On the other hand, it’s also difficult to lose fat
from just one specific area through diet alone.

In such cases, liposuction can help reduce
the size of the problematic area
and effectively resolve these concerns.

Today’s case analysis focuses on arm liposuction,
demonstrating how targeted fat can be removed
from one area to reshape the upper body.

If you’re considering liposuction,
you should understand the importance of proper consultation:

√ First, confirm you are in good health
and suitable for surgery.
√ Second, consult on the balance
between the target area and surrounding regions
to achieve the most harmonious contour.

results may vary depending on individual factors.

This patient underwent arm liposuction
to balance her upper body and achieve a slim arm line.

Although she had a lean frame overall,
she had disproportionately more fat in her upper arms,
which caused her significant stress.

The patient presented with:

1. A fair skin tone

2. Thin skin and a slender bone frame

3. Low muscle mass but a noticeable amount of fat in the arms

4. Sufficient fat volume in the armpits and accessory breast area
for liposuction

Based on this evaluation, we proposed
the following arm liposuction surgical plan:

To create a balanced upper body and arm line,
we recommended not limiting the procedure
to the arms alone.

1. Instead, we included fat removal from the armpits,
accessory breast, and scapula area,
to achieve a slimmer overall upper body silhouette.

2. Since the patient has a low body weight,
we advised taking iron supplements preoperatively,
as dizziness may occur due to post-op weakness.

3. Also, due to thin and fair skin,
there is a chance that the skin could appear red
in the early recovery phase.
We asked her to avoid caffeinated drinks
until the area stabilizes.

Below is a comparison photo taken before surgery
and 2 weeks after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume Removed]

Surgical Areas: Arms, accessory breast, armpits, scapula

Liposuction Volume: 2,000cc

The patient underwent arm liposuction
with the goal of reducing arm volume
and achieving a more slim, delicate arm line.

At the 2-week follow-up,
despite visible bruising, swelling,
and the presence of BioBond,
you can already see a notable reduction in
upper body volume, especially in the arms
and surrounding areas.

Before surgery, the patient’s upper body looked wide
due to prominent upper arm fat.
After liposuction, her shoulder width appeared narrower,
creating a softer and more refined silhouette.

Although the final results require more time—
typically several months—
consistent post-op care, proper compression wear,
and management of bruising and scarring
will help maximize the outcome.

We often recommend including areas such as the
accessory breast, armpits, and scapula
when performing arm liposuction,
because treating only one area can result in
a lack of balance or an unnatural contour.

That said, these additional treatment areas
are not mandatory.

They are suggested to optimize results,
but the decision ultimately lies with the patient.

We always recommend taking time
for a thorough consultation,
so you can make the right decision for yourself
without pressure.
