After pregnancy and childbirth,
many patients visit Lesarts Plastic Surgery
for tummy tuck consultations,
as their weight has partially recovered,
but the abdominal skin remains loose and wrinkled.

In cases where the skin is thin and lacks elasticity,
the likelihood of sagging and wrinkling
naturally increases over time.

As explained in previous Lesarts abdominoplasty posts,
loose abdominal skin and body deformation
caused by postpartum changes
are often difficult to correct
through diet, exercise, or liposuction alone.

In addition to the visible skin laxity,
it is also crucial to examine the abdominal wall’s strength,
which supports the internal organs,
since weakened core support
can worsen the overall abdominal contour.

The case we will review today
involves a female patient in her early 50s,
who had previously given birth naturally
and struggled for years
with sagging abdominal skin and wrinkles
that persisted after childbirth.

After giving birth, she successfully
returned to her pre-pregnancy weight
through consistent diet control,
and maintained yoga, Pilates, and workouts.
However, skin laxity, fine wrinkles,
and a collapsed waistline remained unchanged.

Loose skin around the navel area
and fine wrinkles nearby
had become her major concern.
From the front view, sagging appeared mild,
but from the side view, folds above and below
the navel created visible protrusion
and discomfort when wearing fitted clothes.

Since the issue was not fat-related,
diet, exercise, or liposuction
could not resolve the problem.
For fundamental improvement,
she chose abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)
at Lesarts Plastic Surgery,
to restore tightness and natural balance.

Before the abdominoplasty,
the patient underwent a detailed consultation
to assess her overall condition.

Although she had a slim body type,
she showed noticeable loss of skin elasticity
in the central abdomen.

Despite maintaining good muscle tone through exercise,
the upper and lower abdominal skin sagging
was visibly pronounced.

The skin above and below the navel
was thin and wrinkled,
with significant laxity and fold formation.
This sagging made the waistline appear unclear,
causing the body’s visual balance
to shift downward.

Since she had little abdominal fat,
the focus was not on liposuction,
but on restructuring the abdominal wall
and lifting the loose skin
to restore firmness and proportion.

1.M-type tummy tuck
To correct the skin laxity extending
from the upper to lower abdomen,
an M-type abdominoplasty plan was established
for efficient skin tightening and contour correction.

2.Triple-lock rectus plication
Because the rectus muscles were loosened
not only at the center but also to both sides,
a triple-lock muscle repair was performed
to reinforce the abdominal wall structure
and support the internal pressure effectively.

Through these combined methods,
the goal was to create a firm, flat abdomen
and restore a naturally balanced silhouette.

We will now review the results and recovery progress
at 4 and a half months post-surgery
in detail.

Before the surgery,
the patient’s abdominal skin was thin
and had poor elasticity,
with sagging that began from the upper abdomen
and extended below the navel,
causing folds and wrinkles around the area.

This created a heavy-looking contour
from the waist down to the pelvis,
making the upper body appear
drooped and unbalanced.

As a result, the overall silhouette
gave the impression of a longer torso
and shorter legs,
disrupting body proportion and balance.

However, at four and a half months post-surgery,
the abdominal skin sagging was lifted firmly,
the wrinkles and folds around the navel disappeared,
and the front abdomen became flat and smooth.

With Triple-Lock rectus muscle correction,
the abdominal midline was tightened,
and the laterally separated muscles
were brought together.
This refined the waistline,
making it slimmer, clearer,
and restoring an overall balanced silhouette.

From the oblique preoperative view,
the waist appeared slightly defined,
but the lower abdominal skin was severely sagging,
creating a folded and bulky appearance
below the navel.

The protruding lower abdomen emphasized
the imbalance in body proportion,
making the silhouette appear uneven and heavy.

After the tummy tuck surgery,
the severe sagging of the lower abdomen
was corrected,
and the abdominal curve became smooth
and refined without unevenness.

In particular, the navel reconstruction performed
alongside the abdominoplasty
helped reposition the previously drooping navel,
which had shifted downward due to skin laxity.
By realigning it harmoniously with the waistline,
the legs appear longer,
and the overall body ratio looks more stable
and well-proportioned.

When viewed from a bent-forward position,
the restored support of the abdominal wall
is clearly visible.

Through the Triple-Lock rectus muscle repair,
the previously stretched abdominal muscles
were firmly reinforced,
resulting in a marked improvement of the sagging skin
and the protruding abdominal wall
that had been displaced downward by gravity.

From the side view,
the transformation of the waistline
appears even more distinct.

Before surgery, loose skin below the navel
created uneven bulges,
adding a heavy appearance to the lower abdomen.

After the tummy tuck surgery,
the wrinkles in the central abdomen
and the sagging skin from the upper abdomen
were lifted, resulting in a smooth and flat front contour.

Because abdominoplasty involves a wide incision
and can leave a long scar,
factors such as healing speed and scar pigmentation
vary by individual.
Therefore, continuous follow-up care
is just as essential as the surgery itself
to ensure proper recovery and long-term results.

This patient has also been undergoing
a detailed postoperative care plan
focused on skin recovery and scar improvement,
treating the process as an important continuation
of the surgery itself.
