Recently, liposuction has become one of the most popular choices
for people looking to improve their body shape quickly and effectively,
without spending long hours on exercise.

Of course, if people could achieve their ideal body
through diet and workouts alone,
liposuction wouldn’t be necessary.
But in reality, targeted fat loss from specific areas
is extremely difficult through lifestyle management alone.

With growing interest in liposuction,
some patients come in with misconceptions
based on online rumors or misinformation,
especially about the recovery process.

Many are concerned about bruising, swelling, and Bio-Bond
after surgery. While these effects generally improve over time,
the degree and duration vary from person to person,
and can be mistaken as complications.

Liposuction involves making small incisions
and removing fat using a cannula through vibration and suction,
which naturally causes internal tissue irritation.

In revision cases or high-volume fat removal,
the tissue undergoes more trauma,
often resulting in greater pain, swelling, and bruising.

That’s why each patient’s pain tolerance and recovery
can differ significantly.
For smoother recovery, it’s essential to combine
clinic aftercare programs with self-care,
like stretching, walking, or warm foot baths at home
to promote circulation and healing.

The patient is 159cm tall and weighs 53.2kg,
with a BMI of 21.
She recently started gaining weight
and had attempted repeated dieting
to manage her increased weight,
but faced multiple failures, which led to stress.

To achieve faster and more effective results,
she decided to undergo liposuction,
and visited our clinic
for a consultation with a specialized team.

Due to the weight gain,
she was especially concerned about the fat buildup
in the abdomen and thighs,
and asked whether abdominal and lower body liposuction
could help create a flat stomach
and slim leg line by removing as much fat as possible.

The pinch test revealed that the patient’s skin had reduced elasticity
due to repeated failed diets,
with low muscle mass and a relatively high fat percentage
compared to her height and weight.

Notably, visceral fat had accumulated in the abdomen,
causing the ribcage to appear enlarged
and creating a protruding upper belly.
As a result, it was unlikely that liposuction alone
could achieve a perfectly flat abdominal contour.

We explained that with significant visceral fat,
there are limitations to surgical fat removal,
and emphasized the importance of maintaining
a balanced diet and regular cardio exercise
post-surgery for long-term improvement.

In the lower body, fat was distributed throughout the thighs,
with a concentration in the inner thigh.
Although the outer thighs had slight muscle development,
we expected positive results from lower body liposuction.

However, we noted that the pre-existing inner thigh creases
were due to poor skin elasticity, and after liposuction,
there was a risk that excess skin could lead to
deeper folds in the area.

To prevent wrinkling and support skin retraction,
we advised the patient to wear compression garments
for a longer duration than average.
We also recommended moisturizing and maintaining proper posture
to reduce the risk of creases and pigmentation
from extended garment use.

As the expected fat volume from both the abdomen and thighs was high,
we recommended staging the procedures,
starting with abdominal liposuction,
then allowing recovery before moving on to the lower body.

Ultimately, the surgeries were performed two weeks apart:
3,500cc of fat was removed from the abdomen,
and 3,600cc from the thighs.

In this case, the patient had experienced frequent weight fluctuations,
which led to reduced skin elasticity.
After abdominal liposuction, there was a concern that the skin may not retract properly,
leaving loose or uneven areas if too much fat were removed.
Thus, a balanced approach to liposuction was recommended
rather than aggressive fat removal.

By proceeding with a balanced abdominal liposuction,
the patient was able to prevent sagging by consistently wearing compression garments,
which helped the skin adhere smoothly over time.

Additionally, we advised the patient to maintain proper posture
while wearing compression garments,
as incorrect posture can cause skin creases.
Thanks to her careful effort,
she achieved a smooth and well-contoured result.

Before lower body liposuction,
the patient had visible excess fat with reduced skin elasticity,
especially around the inner thighs,
causing the lower body line to appear uneven.

Given the similar lack of skin firmness as in the upper body,
we emphasized the importance of wearing compression garments
for more than 2–3 months
to support skin retraction
and prevent wrinkling after surgery.

As time passed, swelling, bruising, and Bio-Bond
gradually improved, and the volume and contour
of the lower body became noticeably slimmer and smoother.

For patients with loose skin caused by repeated dieting,
it’s essential to maintain skin firmness through consistent aftercare
to prevent further sagging after liposuction.

To achieve the best liposuction results,
you must undergo a 1:1 personalized consultation
with your surgeon before the procedure,
to clearly understand your body condition
and create a customized surgical plan
that ensures optimal results without overstraining the body.

This is a critical step you should never overlook.
