Abdominal obesity,
often referred to as the root of many diseases,
is commonly caused by a lack of exercise
and irregular eating habits,
which lead to the buildup of both
subcutaneous fat and visceral fat
around the abdomen.

Abdominal fat is known to be
a major risk factor for chronic illnesses
such as hypertension, diabetes,
and other cardiovascular diseases,
making its management essential
for overall obesity prevention.

Because of this, many patients
visit liposuction clinics seeking a fast
and effective solution to reduce
excess belly fat through
abdominal liposuction.

The abdomen is a challenging area
due to low muscle mass and
a tendency to store fat easily.
Even after fat removal,
it is important to maintain
a slim figure with consistent
exercise and dietary control.

Today’s case highlights a patient
who achieved a noticeably
slimmer waistline through
abdominal liposuction and
fat removal around the surrounding areas.

Let’s explore this transformation
in more detail through
the before-and-after photos below.

[Patient Information]

Age: Early 20s
Occupation: University student
Height: 155 cm
Weight: 51 kg
BMI: 21

Even with a similar body type,
liposuction results
may vary by individual.

This patient experienced stress
due to abdominal fat
that disrupted her body line
and affected how clothing fit.

According to her body shape assessment,
this patient had the following characteristics:

1. Her skin elasticity was moderate,
and she had a high amount of abdominal fat
throughout the upper and lower abdomen.

2. The upper abdomen was affected
by a protruding ribcage, which meant that
emphasizing the waist through liposuction
could unintentionally make the chest wall
look even more prominent.

3. Her love handles had sufficient fat volume,
so we recommended liposuction for that area
alongside abdominal liposuction.

The lower abdomen showed mild bulging
of the abdominal wall, so we explained in advance
that the final shape might appear uneven,
even after fat removal.

4. In the bra line area, there was a moderate
amount of fat. For better upper body balance,
we suggested treating this zone along
with the abdomen during surgery.

5. From a health perspective,
the patient had low blood pressure
and was taking iron supplements.

Based on these factors, we proposed
the following abdominal liposuction plan:

1. We planned to perform liposuction
on the abdomen, love handles,
and bra line to sculpt
a slim and contoured waistline.

2. Because the patient tends to form
long-lasting scars, we recommended
making the incision for bra line liposuction
on the back of the armpit,
where it would be less visible.

3. Before surgery, we conducted
a suitability check due to her low blood pressure,
and advised her to consistently
take iron supplements to ensure
safe hemoglobin levels during the procedure.

Below is the comparison photo
taken before abdominal liposuction
and 3 months post-op.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume Removed]

· Surgical Area: Abdominal, bra line

· Liposuction Volume: 3,800cc

The patient hoped to achieve
a more defined waistline
by balancing her upper body
through abdominal liposuction
and bra line liposuction.

Although she did not undergo
love handle liposuction,
which could have enhanced
the hourglass effect,

the 3-month post-op photos
show a noticeable improvement
in her waistline, even with just
abdominal and bra line liposuction.

As mentioned earlier,
because of her ribcage size
and a slightly protruding abdominal wall,
removing large volumes of fat from
the upper and lower abdomen
could have made the ribcage
appear more prominent.

Instead of recommending
high-volume liposuction,
we carefully adjusted her waist
by considering the proportions
of her pelvis and ribcage.

This personalized approach to
abdominal liposuction allowed her
to achieve a slimmer, well-balanced waist.

To help her maintain
the new waist contour,
we emphasized the importance
of wearing compression garments
and continuing our aftercare program
for at least six months,

along with healthy eating habits
and regular exercise to support
a long-term, healthy body shape.
