Liposuction is a procedure that removes excess fat
by making a small incision in the skin of the target area.
A cannula is inserted through the incision,
and fat cells are extracted via vibration and repeated motion,
then expelled from the body.

In liposuction, making an incision is unavoidable,
so some degree of scarring is expected.
Depending on the patient’s skin type,
scars may develop as hyperpigmentation
or even keloid-type scars,
which sometimes require additional treatment.

That’s why, aside from the volume and design of the procedure,
it is equally important to choose a surgeon
who can deliver safe, stable results tailored to your skin type.

The patient in today’s case had keloid-prone skin
and was concerned about post-liposuction scarring.
However, through consistent aftercare and follow-ups,
she achieved satisfying results.

She is currently 3 months post-op,
and while full results will take more time to appear,
we can already observe the progress made so far.

Height: 158cm

Weight: 70kg

BMI: 28

*Note: Even with similar body types,
results from liposuction may vary by individual.

This patient experienced rapid weight gain
after the COVID-19 pandemic,
and was particularly distressed by her upper body volume,
which made her overall figure appear even bulkier.

Body analysis revealed the following characteristics:

1.The patient had significant fat accumulation
throughout the entire upper body.

2.There was visible fat in the arm-connecting areas,
including the accessory breast, armpits,
bra line, and scapular region.

3.However, her skin elasticity was weak,
which raised concerns that, after arm liposuction,
the accessory breast area might develop wrinkling
due to the remaining volume.

4.Additionally, she had keloid-prone skin,
increasing the risk of scarring.

Based on this, we proposed the following
arm liposuction surgery plan:

1. Perform arm liposuction along with connected areas
to create a slimmer, more compact upper body silhouette.

2. We informed the patient of a possible risk of wrinkles
forming in the accessory breast area
after liposuction due to skin laxity.

3. Given her keloid-prone skin,
we designed the procedure to minimize incision size,
ensuring the formation of a slim arm line
while reducing the chance of scar complications.

Below is a comparison photo taken before surgery
and 2 weeks after arm liposuction.

[Surgical Area & Fat Volume Removed]

· Surgical Area: Arms, bra line, armpits, accessory breast

· Liposuction Volume: 4,700cc

Following arm liposuction,
the patient achieved the upper body volume reduction
she had hoped for,
resulting in a visibly slimmer arm line.

Before surgery, fat in the armpits and accessory breast area
caused the arms to stick outward,
making her upper body appear larger.

By eliminating that bulk,
her arms now look more balanced and contoured.

In the 2-week post-op photo,
you can see that the patient has keloid-prone skin,
with some redness and visible scarring
at the incision sites.

While scarring varies by individual,
liposuction scars typically fade over several months.

In this case, due to her concern with
keloid scars and pigmentation,
we provided not only scar treatment ointment
but also guided her through laser toning aftercare
to help improve healing.

With consistent care,
we expect her scars to stabilize significantly
by the 6-month mark,
alongside her final liposuction results.

Because recovery management plays a major role
in the final outcome of liposuction,
we emphasized the importance of consistent aftercare
for the best long-term results.

Most importantly, we reminded her that
a successful outcome starts with a thorough consultation,
including body analysis and a personalized
surgical plan tailored to her goals.
