As the new year begins, many people set goals
to improve their body through exercise and a healthy diet,
but staying consistent with these efforts
can be extremely challenging.

For working professionals with irregular eating habits,
it is often difficult to maintain regular routines,
leading to increased interest in liposuction
as a more realistic option.

Because each person has different problem areas,
many individuals are considering full-body liposuction
to achieve better overall body balance.

However, we do not recommend performing
full-body liposuction in a single day,
as the procedure is typically done under sedation,
and patient safety and recovery are the top priorities.

Attempting to treat all areas at once
can lead to physical fatigue and extended downtime,
so we advise against doing everything in one session.

For patients in good general health,
we suggest scheduling liposuction in stages,
with about 2 weeks between sessions.

Because swelling and bruising move downward due to gravity,
we often begin with the arms and back,
followed by the abdomen, and finally the thighs
once the patient has recovered strength.

Of course, the order and plan may vary
depending on the individual,
so it’s important to have a detailed consultation
with your surgeon and create a plan
that fits your body balance and goals.

The patient is 157cm tall, weighs 69.6kg,
with a BMI of 28.2.
She experienced a rapid weight gain of over 10kg
within the past year.

As a result, she developed sudden fat accumulation
in the arms, abdomen, and thighs,
and visited our clinic seeking
a solution through full-body liposuction.

Based on the consultation,
the patient had a fat-dominant body type,
and it was expected that liposuction
would result in a more defined waistline.

However, due to the patient’s thin skin
and reduced skin elasticity,
we explained that lower abdominal bulging
might appear slightly post-surgery.

To prevent sagging caused by fat removal,
we emphasized the importance of consistent compression wear
after abdominal liposuction
to help create and maintain a slim waistline.

We also informed the patient in advance that
if sagging becomes severe,
a tummy tuck may be considered in the future.

As the expected fat volume was quite high,
we recommended taking iron supplements in advance
to prevent postoperative anemia.

The patient fully understood the treatment plan
and decided to proceed with abdominal liposuction,
which included the panty line, pubic area, and full abdomen.

A total of 6,800cc of fat was successfully removed.

Although the patient’s abdominal fat was effectively reduced
through abdominal liposuction,
she had more significant skin laxity
compared to other patients.

To enhance skin retraction and define the waistline,
it was important to wear a compression garment consistently
for at least 2–3 months,
to help the skin adhere properly
and prevent sagging.

Thanks to the patient’s dedicated aftercare,
we were able to see a noticeable improvement
in her waist definition after the procedure.

Post-liposuction symptoms may vary greatly
depending on the individual’s condition,
healing speed, and amount of fat removed.

Some patients may experience more severe bruising and swelling,
while others may have less visible bruising
but still develop Bio-Bond.

Among these responses, one that requires close attention
is seroma formation—a soft, fluid-filled lump
that feels noticeably softer and more protruded
compared to regular swelling.

Seromas commonly occur in the lower abdomen
and groin areas,
especially after large-volume liposuction.
This is caused by residual body fluid
pooling in the space where fat was removed.

In this patient’s case, a seroma was detected
one week after undergoing high-volume abdominal liposuction,
specifically in an area with low skin elasticity,
and prompt treatment was administered.

If left untreated, a seroma can lead to pain or inflammation,
so if a noticeably soft, bulging area appears
within the first two weeks post-op,
we strongly recommend visiting your clinic
to receive proper evaluation and care.
