When it comes to upper body contour,
the arms are undoubtedly the most defining area.

Fat around the upper arms, accessory breast,
and armpit area can make the upper body appear bulky,
even if the actual body weight isn’t high—
making patients look heavier than they are.

Many people assume
that only the upper arms gain fat,
but it often extends into the inner arms,
accessory breast area, and even the upper back.

Rather than performing liposuction on the arms alone,
treating the surrounding areas as well
can result in a more natural and visibly slimmer upper body silhouette.

This patient, with a height of 152cm,
weight of 51.8kg, and BMI of 22.4,
had excess fat primarily concentrated in the upper body—
especially the upper arm bulge,
which had been a long-standing concern.

She visited Lesarts Plastic Surgery
to address this issue through arm liposuction.

The inner arm is typically a thinner-skinned area
with lower skin elasticity compared to other regions.

In this case, however,
the patient’s skin elasticity was relatively good,
and her muscle tone was moderate to low—
a “soft-fat” body type—
which indicated a high potential for effective surgical results.

To achieve a more balanced upper body
and a well-defined slim arm line,
we also recommended liposuction for the accessory breast
and armpit fat areas.

The patient fully understood that
removing fat from these areas
would help create a more straight arm line
with improved proportion—
and agreed to proceed with arm liposuction.

However, we also explained
that removing fat from the accessory breast
could potentially lead to skin wrinkling
as volume is reduced.

The patient acknowledged this possibility
and proceeded with the surgery
with full understanding.

A total of 2,300cc of fat was removed
from the arms, upper arm bulge, accessory breast,
and armpit fat areas following liposuction.

Before the procedure,
the arms had a round and protruding shape.
As three months have passed since the surgery,
we observed that the volume has gradually reduced,
resulting in a smoother and straighter arm line.

The patient had requested maximum fat removal
in the upper arm bulge,
and we also included liposuction along the arm-to-torso transition zone,
which contributed to a more balanced upper body contour.

At Lesarts Plastic Surgery,
we always prioritize the patient’s needs—
and often recommend liposuction in adjacent areas
to ensure full-body harmony and proportional results.

While suggestions for additional areas may initially feel overwhelming,
they are never mandatory.
