This patient experienced significant stress due to the appearance of a bulky upper body.

Although she had tried working out to reduce arm fat, she saw no visible improvement.

After seeing the arm contouring results of her younger sister, who had previously undergone liposuction at our clinic, she decided to visit us for a consultation.

At the time of consultation, the patient was 158 cm tall, weighed 54.2 kg, and had a BMI of 21.7.
Her skin elasticity was slightly reduced, and her deltoid muscles were well-developed,
making it difficult to achieve a completely straight-arm silhouette.

However, aside from the deltoid area, there was a significant amount of subcutaneous fat,
so we expected liposuction to be effective.
We explained that by reducing the thickness of the fat layer to create a straighter arm line,
the underlying muscle contours could become more visible.
The patient also had fat accumulation in the shoulder blade and armpit areas,

which contributed to the bulky appearance.
We recommended including these areas in the procedure for a synergistic slimming effect,
and the patient agreed as she was already aware of the fat in those regions.
Due to the slight loss of skin elasticity, we advised her to wear compression garments for an extended period post-surgery.
Liposuction was performed on the upper arms, shoulder blades, and armpits,
with a total of 1,900 cc of fat removed to achieve a straighter arm contour.

Before the procedure, the combination of muscle volume
and fat made the outer arms appear bulky, contributing to an overall larger frame.
By postoperative day 13, the patient showed quick recovery,
with only residual redness and swelling at the incision sites.
Photos taken approximately five months after the surgery showed reduced bruising,
swelling, and redness, with a noticeable improvement toward a straighter arm line.

Just as each person has a different balance of muscle and fat,
every patient has a different desired outcome.
Some wish to maintain a slightly fuller, healthier-looking arm while others prefer the most defined, slim “bone-line” possible.
This patient desired a straight arm shape.
Although a perfectly straight silhouette was not fully achievable due to
her developed deltoid muscles, we were able to improve the areas she was most concerned about.
In some cases, skin elasticity may decrease due to rapid weight changes or lifestyle habits.
Depending on the desired outcome, muscle mass,
and fat volume, those with less skin elasticity may have slightly

lower fat removal volumes compared to those with firmer skin.

From a medical perspective, if we determine that certain results are not
achievable due to factors such as skin elasticity or bone structure,
we provide honest feedback during consultation.
Arm liposuction is a procedure that requires careful consideration of skin quality,
muscle shape, and skeletal frame to design and extract fat cells in a way that achieves the desired silhouette.
Please keep in mind that excessive fat removal can lead to complications and is not recommended.
