Arm liposuction in Korea can be a solution
when fat builds up on the back of the arms,
commonly known as “jeogori fat.”
This type of fat creates a sagging line
when you lift your arms,
and makes the overall arm silhouette look bulky.

If you naturally tend to gain fat in the arms,
even a slight weight gain
can make this back arm bulge stand out.
The upper arm bulge, in particular,
is hard to tone with workouts alone
and can be a constant source of stress.

Trying to reduce it with exercise
may unintentionally develop muscle instead,
causing the arms to appear even bulkier
and heavier in silhouette.

For those dealing with persistent fat deposits in the back arms
and struggling to refine the arm line,
it’s natural to start considering
arm liposuction as a possible solution.

[Patient Information]
Age: Late 20s
Occupation: Office worker
Height: 161cm
Weight: 53kg
BMI: 21

Even with similar body types,
results from liposuction surgery may vary.

The patient had been consistently managing
her body shape through regular Pilates,
but over the past year, she gained about 5kg,
which made her back arm bulge more noticeable
and became a source of concern.

Since she previously maintained a weight
in the high 40kg range,
she became sensitive to even small changes,
and the bulging line behind the arms stood out more,
causing discomfort when wearing
sleeveless tops or short-sleeved shirts.

To address this concern,
the patient had undergone several rounds
of fat-dissolving injections,
but found them unsatisfactory.
For a more definite and lasting solution,
she decided to proceed with arm liposuction.

Pre-surgery body analysis revealed that
the patient had even fat distribution
throughout the arms,
but as she mentioned, the back arm area
(known as jeogori fat) appeared particularly prominent.

This was most noticeable from the side view,
but when the arms were placed close to the torso,
it also gave the impression
of a wider upper body silhouette
from both the front and back.

The patient also had a well-developed deltoid,
which made the overall transition
from the shoulder to the arm appear less slim,
so a comprehensive surgical plan was required
to address these concerns effectively.

In addition, fat in the armpit area
blurred the line between the arm and torso,
especially when wearing sleeveless clothing.
This created a visual shortening effect,
making the arms appear shorter than they were.

Considering all of these aspects,
we planned the surgery to include
arm liposuction and armpit fat removal
to reduce circumference
and refine the overall arm line.

We will now review the before-and-after results
using photos taken three months after surgery
for both arm liposuction and armpit liposuction.

Through arm and armpit liposuction,
you can see that the thick arm shape
has changed into a slimmer,
more refined contour.

Before surgery, the back of the arm
(jeogori fat) bulged outward,
making the arm line appear short
and uneven in silhouette.
It also narrowed the space
between the arms and torso,
and the protruding outer fat created
a wider upper body appearance.

With arm liposuction and
armpit fat removal performed together,
the arms now naturally rest
closer to the body,
giving the upper body a slimmer look.

This patient had developed deltoid muscles,
so instead of simply removing
as much fat as possible,
we considered the muscle movement
and volume balance
to prevent muscle prominence.

As a result, the arm was reshaped
into a straight and slender line,
without emphasizing any muscle contours.

The armpit area was also refined
using an optimal surgical design,
rather than excessive fat removal.
This helped define the line
and reduced the heavy impression
that occurred when the arms were lowered.

By comparing before-and-after photos
taken from various angles after
arm liposuction,
you can clearly see that the back arm volume
was significantly reduced,
and the space between the arms and torso
was regained, making the upper body
appear much slimmer and softer.

The patient also shared that after surgery,
wearing tight-fitting clothes felt much better,
and she was especially satisfied
with the smooth lines of the arms
and clean contour around the armpits.

Arm liposuction, as shown in this case,
should not be viewed as simply
a way to reduce arm circumference.
It is a procedure that should consider
the overall upper body proportions
and how clothing fits the body.

Especially in cases like this one,
where there is not only localized fat
like the upper arm bulge,
but also noticeable muscle development,
it is more important to refine the area
based on the muscle dynamics
and individual body structure,
rather than removing the maximum amount of fat.

This surgery was also carried out
with a strong focus on that balance,
which led to the successful creation
of a slim and natural arm line
without any overcorrection.
