he role of the compression garment is to secure the stretched skin, fill the space of the liposuctioned areas, and help smooth and even out the skin. However, immediately after surgery, when swelling is at its peak, wearing a tight compression garment can cause significant discomfort.
While wearing the compression garment is recommended for improving the shape post-surgery, it should be discontinued if you experience an allergy, excessive swelling that impedes blood circulation (as blood flow is essential for recovery), or if there are any skin injuries. If none of these conditions are present, it is better to wear the garment, even if uncomfortable, to achieve a smooth contour.
If the swelling is severe, it is okay to temporarily remove the garment and then wear it again after some time. Additionally, the timing for wearing the compression garment can vary depending on your skin's elasticity. It is generally recommended to wear it for at least one to one and a half months, and intermittently up to three months.
