Hello, this is Lesarts Plastic Surgery.
Swelling and bruising occur around the surgical area and surrounding areas immediately after liposuction. As the days pass, swelling and bruising may worsen, and a feeling of warmth in the treated area may also occur. During this period, cold compresses help reduce swelling and heat.
After a few days, when the heat sensation goes away and the bruising becomes darker, warm compresses can be applied to help loosen the blood clots. This will help lighten the bruising, soften hardened tissue, and reduce swelling.
Both cold and warm compresses should be used according to the condition of the surgery area. However, since the surgical area may not feel temperature well and the skin is in a weakened state, care should be taken to avoid frostbite or burns.
